A pilgrimage to the high mountain, through gorge, through deep forest, across fierce rock and eternal snow to arrive at a place above precipices. A butterfly bears the marks and colours of the chain of mountains on its wings. My response to the cosmos of the mountain is to enter a microcosm, to experience the void internal to me as an artist and there commence to make an image, to bring an inner transfigured, luminated image into being.
