Isle of Skye: North Atlantic Mountains

On the grey scale with mountains rising directly from sea level, these portraits of fjordland feature winter as a presence.  Made with great respect for the dominating elements, sometimes snatched like silver from beneath the snout of sleeping dragons, the brushwork seeks a harmony of nature.  On Skye one can never go more than seven kilometers from the sea and the painter makes constant reference to Norwegian expressionists like Edvard Munch and Solberg.
